Jennifer likes to be daring with her look. She's not afraid to really wear makeup. For Jennifer's bold and glamorous look, Jillian (the makeup artist) put the focus on Jennifer's eyes by lining them with a deep black liner and then layering a gold eyeshadow on the actress's lids. Using a featherbrush, Jillian blended the edges of the liner with the gold shadow. Merging the two textures and colors helped create a multidimensional effect that appeared as a sparkling black. By darkening Jennifer’s brows, Jillian further accentuated the eyes and framed her face.
To create Jennifer's sunkissed glow, Jillian used her new Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Perfect Contour Powder in Blissful to sculpt cheeks first, then layered a custom mix of two peachy cream blushes on top. This created Jennifer's overall soft, warm complexion. For a finishing touch, Jillian opted for a nude lip— she applied a lipstain and then swiped on a nude lipstick to achieve a creamy texture.

The Hairstyle!!! Jennifer's glamorous up do can be done with just six simple steps!  

1. Start by applying a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to damp hair and blow dry with a large round brush.

Essiential Equipment used in the Arena!

In the arena there are multiple different tools and equipment found and used to better enhance the tributes chance of living and surviving. The cornucopia, located in the center of the arena, is the prime source for lots of tools and equipment that the tributes use in the arena. Some important equipment used in the Hunger Games are backpacks, an awl, belt, body armor, a sleeping bag, and a bow and arrow.

Backpacks: contain supplies for the tributes, like ropes, flasks,  sleeping bags, wires and camouflage tools. During the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss took one and the boy from District 9 tried to kill her



 

Awl:  tool with a blade like a screwdriver and a handle made from wood or plastic, it is typically used for piercing holes in either wood or leather, however it can also be used as a weapon, usually used in close combat. Katniss used an Awl to pierce a hole in the tree to insert a spile for water.

 

Belt: Katniss uses her belt as one of her vital tools in the Hunger Games. She used it to tie herself to a tree and sleep in the 74th Hunger Games. Without it she would have been killed by the Career pack. However belts have also appeared in the 75th Hunger Games. Here the belts were used as flotation devices. Without them, most of the tributes would have drowned, because the Cornucopia was surrounded by water. 

 

Body Armour: Cinna designed a special mockingjay outfit for Katniss which incorporated body armor. This protected her when she was shot in District 2, although the bullet bruised her ribs and ruptured her spleen. He also designed a combat uniform for the rebel soldiers consisting of a close-fitting helmet composed of a supple, interwoven metal that could be drawn back like a hood, a vest, belt, earpiece, and gas mask.

 

Sleeping Bag: used for sleeping, usually consisting of 3 layers to keep warm and prevent from outside weather and such. In the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss had a sleeping bag. It was inside the backpack she got at the Cornucopia. The sleeping bag was made of the same fabric as the tributes' jackets. When she burned her leg she cut a hole in the bag for her leg.

 

Bow:  The bow and arrow is a projectile weapon that predates recorded history and is common to most cultures. Archery is the art, practice, or skill of applying it. Katniss Everdeen uses a bow to hunt for food in the woods, and it becomes her weapon of choice in the arena during the 74th Hunger Games. Gale Hawthorne is also a skilled archer, learning his skills from Katniss, who in turn learned from her father, Mr. Everdeen.

HISTORY OF THE HUNGER GAMES

Seventy-five years before the 74th Hunger Games, the thirteen districts of Panem revolted against the Capitol. Together, they stood strong, but when District 13 was destroyed by the Capitol, resistance became impossible, as District 13 was the driving force behind the rebellion. The remaining districts submitted to the Capitol and lost their hope for change.
Every year since the rebellion, the Capitol forced 24 children into the arena and used hidden cameras to televise the events in order to both entertain the Capitol citizens and remind the twelve districts how completely at the Capitol's mercy they are. Only one tribute can win the games, with the exception of the 74th Hunger Games, where Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark of District 12 both won because of their joint attempted suicide.



Meet the Woman Who Created 'The Hunger Games'

This article describes where the idea of the Hunger Games came about by Author Suzanne Collins. She is a very shy woman who does not like being in the lime light but took the idea of the Iraq War and put it into a book. She said her first idea for the Hunger Games came about when she was watching the news ... "I was flipping through images of reality television, there were these young people competing for a million dollars ... and I saw images of the Iraq War," Collins said in a video from her publisher, Scholastic. "Two things began to sort of fuse together in a very unsettling way, and there is really the moment when I got the idea for Katniss' story." .. I think it is amazing that one woman could think of this incredible trilogy.  The story of the Hunger Games stems from not only the Iraq War but also the Vietnam.


The Victors of The Previous Hunger Games
This article sums up who the victors are, how they came to be victors, and what many of their futures hold.  A total of 75 victors were known before the quarter quell, 59 of them still alive. Sixteen of them died of natural causes, 18 during the 75th Hunger Games, and the other 34 during the victor's purge and capitol rebellion. I liked this article because it gave you more information about the victors that you may have forgotten or not discovered in the movies or books.

 

Catching Fire: The Absolute Arena

I picked this video because it describes things (behind the scenes) that you do not find out in either the books or movies. In this video the director, Francis Lawrence talks about and describes the making and creation of the Arena along with the emotions adding to the setting of the movie.  The Catching Fire Arena was very different than the first because it contained a jungle and aquatic theme. All of the jungle scenes were filmed in Hawaii and all of the water/beach scenes were filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Lawrence said it was very hard to capture and set up these scenes, but the emotions set off by the characters are what made the film come to life. In this article I learned where certain scenes were shot, and I find it to be so interesting that these scenes were filmed right here in America.

'Catching Fire': 12 big changes from page to screen (and why almost all of them work)

I picked this article because I have read both the books and watched the movies, and although they seem quite similar there are always changes, that you remember but also forget. What I learned was that the smaller parts of the book were excluded, but in the book they were very meaning full points. These are the 12 main changes from the book to the movie.

I loved this article because I read the books a long time ago and forgot about all those little details that either got taken out or changed. I think for the benefit of the movie it was good they made these changes, but I am glad the books are how they are. The weirdest change to me is that Peeta no longer has a prosthetic leg, but trust me I am so glad he has his actual leg in the movies!!

What Really Makes Katniss Stand Out? Peeta, Her Movie Girlfriend  
I picked this article because I thought it would be interesting to read about the differences between Katniss and Peeta and what their roles in the movie teach the children and adults watching it. In this article you come to realize that Katniss is unlike most female characters in movies, she is the heroine unlike Peeta and ultimately it is she who is saving the people of the Districts and starting a rebellion. She is smarter, stronger, braver, and more cynical. I learned that Katniss represents a new look on "women"; they can be great role models and males are not the only gender to be heroes. I think it is great their is finally a movie where young women can watch it and strive to be someone who helps or changes the world with their own set of opinions.

What do I want to learn more about?!
I want to learn more about the Hunger Games books, movies, author, characters in and out of the books/movies, how these movies and books effect society, and what the future for these movies and books are.

Why do I want to learn more about this?!
I think that the theme of the Hunger Games is very creative, strange and absurd, but also interesting. I like learning about how the ideas of "The Hunger Games" came about and what the process was like to make the movies. The fashion and style of the Capital and also people like Effie Trinket, and the wedding dress Katniss wore in Catching Fire were astounding. These books and movies are jam packed with excitement and adventure. They always keep you wanting more. Learning more about the Hunger Games, to me, will be fun and intriguing because I think the movies and books hold a greater meaning then what can be seen from a distance.
