I picked this article because I thought it would be interesting to read about the differences between Katniss and Peeta and what their roles in the movie teach the children and adults watching it. In this article you come to realize that Katniss is unlike most female characters in movies, she is the heroine unlike Peeta and ultimately it is she who is saving the people of the Districts and starting a rebellion. She is smarter, stronger, braver, and more cynical. I learned that Katniss represents a new look on "women"; they can be great role models and males are not the only gender to be heroes. I think it is great their is finally a movie where young women can watch it and strive to be someone who helps or changes the world with their own set of opinions.
